New York, NY--The Natural Diamond Council (NDC) has launched the not-for-profit, free Diamond Learning Center.

The primary objective of the Diamond Learning Center at diamondlearningcenter.org, is to engage jewelry salespeople to be better informed and inspired to confidently and clearly distinguish the value propositions across natural diamonds, laboratory-grown diamonds and diamond simulants to their customers, NDC said in a statement.

“The Diamond Learning Center serves as a one-stop, mobile-friendly destination for new and seasoned diamond jewelry professionals as well as enthusiasts looking to learn or refresh knowledge on the story, facts and beauty of diamonds,” NDC said in a statement. “The à la carte, flexible content is designed to be quick, rich and condensed, featuring content from multiple sources including videos, infographics, and self-quizzes, thereby appealing to a variety of learning styles. It is a great complement and primer to technical diamond education currently offered in the marketplace.”

The Diamond Learning Center was created from an education roundtable that recognized “confusion” and “bias” across several retail segments selling diamond jewelry and the subsequent detriment, current and potential, to the industry overall, NDC said. The leadership included representatives from AGS, De Beers, Diamex, Fischer Diamonds, Gabriel & Co, GIA, IDMA, Jewelers of America, Jewelers Mutual, Premier Gem and Shane Co.
