Paris, France--Van Cleef & Arpels continues reinventing the celebrated Alhambra motif, a cornerstone of their designs since 1968. The latest pieces in the collection present a blend of guilloché rose gold and fiery shades of carnelian.

According to Van Cleef & Arpels, the guilloché effect offers a subtle relief to the surface of the precious metal, creating an enticing play of light. The spotlight shines on a design in the form of a ring, boasting a reversible motif featuring carnelian and guilloché rose gold set with a diamond.

The Alhambra Collection has, over time, introduced various interpretations of its iconic motif, such as the Vintage, Magic, Lucky, Pure, and Byzantine Alhambra collections, each celebrating an aesthetic resonance of the celebrated motif.

The Vintage Alhambra reflects the collection’s original aesthetic, while the Magic Alhambra plays with various shapes and materials. The Lucky Alhambra combines symbols of luck and love, whereas the Pure Alhambra showcases simple and harmonious lines. The Byzantine Alhambra, exclusively in yellow gold, combines solid and openwork structures.

Luck, a cherished value at Van Cleef & Arpels, has consistently been a source of inspiration for the Maison. Their archives from 1906 reveal the first four-leaf clovers, accompanied by several pieces depicting wooden talismans and benevolent fairies.

The Alhambra motif, inspired by the four-leaf clover, has seen numerous reinterpretations since the creation of the first Alhambra long necklace in 1968.
