Paso Robles, CA—With the diamond industry already scrambling to rebuild desire among Millennials, the steady improvement of technology to make diamonds in a laboratory has been quietly gaining ground. Makers of lab-grown diamonds tout their stones as the socially responsible and/or green alternative to mined diamonds, but so far the category hasn’t grown enough to determine the real threat they might someday pose to natural stones.

MVI Marketing, in its monthly consumer research videos, interviews a group of Millennial consumers to gauge their awareness of—and willingness to buy—diamonds created in a laboratory vs. those created deep in the Earth. Their findings show that Millennials are not only willing to buy man-made stones, in many cases they’d prefer it. Click here to watch.
