WILLIAMS JEWELERS’ CLIENT PROPOSES TO GIRLFRIEND ON LIVE TV EVENING NEWS PROGRAM August 29, 2012 (1 comment)
Denver, CO—With the advent of everything social, jewelers often play a greater role in a couple’s engagement than just supplying the ring. From stores that host promotions like the Diamond Dash to others that invite couples to share their special love stories on Facebook, jewelers are finding creative ways to build fans among the bridal set.
But in Denver, one marriage proposal made big news. As in, live on the evening news of NBC affiliate KHAS TV5.
Jeweler Bruce Williams says prospective groom Ryan Pelton drove from Nebraska to Denver to buy a Maevona engagement ring at Williams Jewelers. He then proposed live on the air to his girlfriend, Live 5 weather reporter Katie Gauthier, whose co-anchors of course were in on the surprise and helped to pull it off by hiding Pelton in the control room until the time came.
She said yes, but was so surprised she never got around to reporting the weather on that evening’s program. Watch the proposal video here.
