Position Summary
The Quality Assurance new merchandise evaluate if quality standards are met on new merchandise

Essential Job Responsibilities  
1. Evaluate each piece of new merchandise against established standards and requirements set by LeVian and the customer
 Evaluate and report on quality of each piece of merchandise relative to a specific list of requirements established by LeVian and the customer
 Record findings on the system as each item is being evaluated
 Review findings with the manager for final decisions relative to pass or failures

2.  Provide QA support within the QA department relative to bulk returns
 Evaluate and report on quality of each piece of merchandise relative to a specific list of requirements established by LeVian
 Record findings on a written report as each item is being evaluated
 Review findings with the manager for final decisions relative to pass or failures

3.  Provide QA support within the QA department relative to samples
 Evaluate and report on quality of each sample relative to a specific list of requirements established by LeVian
 Record findings on a written report as each item is being evaluated
 Review findings with the manager for final decisions relative to pass or failures

Working Conditions
Physical Requirements
 Able to sit at and work on a computer for extended periods.
 Able to sit at and work at a desk with a loupe and microscope for extended periods
 Able to lift 10 pounds and reach/bend to retrieve documents in cabinets and on shelves.
 Visual acuity
 Dexterity using fingers and or tweezers to handle jewelry

Work Environment
 Typical office environment
 Willing and able to work additional hours as needed to ensure responsibilities are met.
Minimum Qualifications
¬ College degree a plus
¬ 2 years quality assurance experience working with fine jewelry
¬ 1 year experience evaluating diamonds and gemstones
¬ Gemological degree or certification is a plus
¬ Proven experience using a loupe or hand lens to inspect and evaluate diamonds
¬ Takes personal responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work, and achieves results with little oversight
¬ Accomplish work in a deadline driven work environment
¬ Unquestionable integrity and ethics
¬ Proven ability to produce high quality work in a deadline driven environment
¬ Detail oriented
¬ Working knowledge with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook is a plus
