Jewelry Sales Professional and Designer Job Purpose:
The primary role of the retail sales professional for fine jewelry and diamond operations is to increase sales and profit margins on an ongoing basis in both the sales and service categories; by achieving goals set forth by upper management, adhering to the sales manager’s rules and training as instructed that pertains to all retail sales and service activities, participating in all scheduled meetings that relate to sales education, product knowledge with an emphasis on diamonds, achieving goals, motivation, and legendary customer service.
The retail sales professional is responsible for “working the sales floor” using principles and techniques as instructed by his or her immediate supervisor. Mavilo Diamonds & Fine Jewelry expects the sales manager and the sales team to deliver the “Mavilo” experience via our legendary service model.
The sales professional and jewelry designer is responsible for making connections with their clients, having advanced GIA diamond selling skills, jewelry designing skills, hand sketching skills, having excellent presentation skills, excellent probing skills, being able to overcome objections, having good bundling selling skills, good closing skills, good add on skills, and excellent follow through consistency on all of the required follow up activities.
Additional responsibilities of the retail sales professional are: opening and closing store activities to include daily cash inflow and outflow reconciliation, security policies, inventory control and adhering to associated inventory policies, complying with retail schedules, maintaining all established store standards, and assisting in the facilitation of events and promotions. The retail sales professional is responsible for their training in and execution of meaningful jewelry display, keeping all retail deliverables and utilities current and on hand, and making sure all packaging supplies are on hand.
The Mavilo retail sales professional will work diligently to anticipate potential client problems and “head them off at the pass”. The retail sales professional will work with clients and their supervisors to resolve concerns and problems in a swift manner and in a manner that Mavilo clients find “Legendary”.
All Mavilo staff are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that is consistent with the integrity, ethics, conduct, and dress code that is required by Mavilo Diamonds & Fine Jewelry. “Lead by example” is the Mavilo expectation for all positions. Ongoing education as specified relating to the retail sales professional position will be required.
• 3 years or more of selling GIA diamonds with strong closing ratio
• 3 or more years designing jewelry
• Ability to sketch jewelry
• 3 years or more of fine jewelry sales experience
• Proven track record in achieving strong personal and team sales results
• Willing to work seasonal retail hours which may include Sundays in December
• Strong communication skills
• Able to learn a new point-of-sale system; good computer skills, and good email skills
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S
• Graduate Gemologist or GIA Diamonds Certificate or GIA coursework
• A college/university degree preferred
Salary: Based on experience and education. Salaried plus commissions. Florida lifestyle.
