Green Bay, WI--Britten Wolf, Owner of BVW Jewelers in Reno Nevada has a beautiful store.  His team’s number one focus is customers, so when I was chatting with Britten, he told me that any client interface must be low drag for his team.  “I want my team working on sales, not software.” Britten said.

We were chatting about client outreach and how he and his team stays connected and on top of all things customer related, from phone calls, text messaging, and conversations in the store.  Britten and his team love Podium for all of this communication.  He said “The ability to be able to look back at any conversations my team has had with the customer has been huge for us, and I can’t even begin to tell you how many upsells and add-ons we’ve had from people doing individual outreach to our clients!"

One big benefit to a great outreach platform is for new customers to have a heightened sense of security with consistent communication. “We have folks leave their jewelry with us that are very concerned about security.  “With our simple interface with our POS and repair process, we can communicate exactly the what and where of any customer’s jewelry while in our possession.” says Britten.  “We’re just a mom and pop business, so this tool is invaluable to us.”

I’m convinced that our sales teams active in clientelling, outreach and building personal trade is the hope for independent jewelers and the one thing that can best replicate the early entrepreneurial activities of the owners.  This is why it’s a major focus of our weekly sales training series.  It promotes personal trade, it can build relationships that the internet still cannot do, and it’s the cheapest, yet most effective form of advertising for business building.  Britten is grateful for his Podium account for making this entire process easy and seamless.  If your store is still just waiting for people to walk through your doors, it’s time to get serious about a clientelling plan for your store.  There are just too many great stories to deny it or put it off.
