Tom Rivers, NJ--Police say $1 million worth of merchandise was stolen from a local jewelry store this week, according to a report by CBS News New York.
The burglary occurred sometime between 8 p.m. Wednesday and 10 a.m. Thursday at Venzio Jewelers in the Ocean County Mall, in Tom Rivers, the channel 2 news station said, quoting police sources.
One or more persons entered a vacant store next to Venzio Jewelers and cut a hole in the wall of the jewelry store's rear office, police reportedly said. The person or persons allegedly cut the phone and alarm cables, then apparently used a torch to gain access to a safe to remove the jewels valued at $1 million.
