London, United Kingdom—Paddy Byng, former CEO of luxury stationer and leather purveyor Smythson, has been named managing director of Asprey Holdings Ltd., parent company of luxury jeweler Asprey London. He reports to John Rigas, chairman of Asprey’s board and its chief shareholder.

According to an article in Women’s Wear Daily, Rigas said Asprey’s sales of leather goods were up 60 percent year over year, and that the company is planning to build its accessories division to include small leather goods.

In June, the firm named American accessories designer Bruce Hoeksema creative director, overseeing its core categories of leather, silver, jewelry, and watches.
