Amit Pratihari Appointed Managing Director of GIA India Laboratory Pvt. Ltd. October 09, 2025 (0 comments)
Carlsbad, CA--The board of GIA India Laboratory Pvt. Ltd. has appointed Amit Pratihari as managing director, effective October 1, according to a new release. He will oversee operations at the organization's gemological laboratories in Mumbai and Surat and the GIA India School in Mumbai, reporting to the GIA India board of directors.

Sriram Natarajan, a director on the GIA India board and senior vice president of laboratory operations for the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), said Pratihari's experience in retail and brand management, including more than a decade in the diamond industry, positions him well to lead GIA India's laboratory and education initiatives.
"GIA India is a vital part of the diamond industry in India and around the world," Pratihari said. "I look forward to contributing to the ongoing success of GIA India.”
Before joining GIA India, Pratihari was managing director of De Beers India and Forevermark India, where he oversaw brand expansion in India and the Middle East. He previously spent a decade with De Beers retail operations in India and another ten years in consumer retail and brand management.
