The International Colored Gemstone Association(ICA) Congress will be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from April 30 to May 4, 2011. This biennial industry event—its second time in Brazil—will be hosted by IBGM, the Brazilian Gems & Jewellery Trade Association.
The 2011 congress is titled “Ethical Mining & Fair Trade: Certification Challenges from Mine to Market.” Both IBGM and ICA are in the process of drafting an agenda and list of speakers to address these and other issues of growing importance in the gem and jewelry industry. The congress will also feature a mini-trade show and will be followed by an ICA mine tour.
