Centurion exhibitor Monica Rich Kosann has been accepted as a member of the Council of Fashion Deisgners of America (CFDA), a prominent organization in the fashion industry. Kosann, a photographer and fine jewelry designer who incorporates photos into her pieces, was one of 25 new members accepted this year. According to Women’s Wear Daily, CFDA is working to become more egalitarian in its selection of members, choosing designers from all sectors of the fashion industry from high end to major brands, and including designers of accessories and jewelry. Kosann was accepted in the fine jewelry category. Other notable names in the CFDA “class of 2010” include handbag designer Rebecca Minkoff, fashion designer L’Wren Scott, Pamella DeVos, the designer behind Pamella Roland red-carpet gowns, and fashion jewelry designers Vicki Beamon and Karen Erickson of Erickson Beamon.
