Aspen, CO—John Oates, best known as half of the rock and soul duo Hall and Oates, held a private concert at Mark and Robin Levinson's home here on Wednesday, August 17. The concert was held to raise awareness of Oates’s 7908 Aspen Songwriters Festival, which takes place each year. The Songwriter's Festival perpetuates a legacy for present and future songwriters through scholarships, events, and other programs. In the singer’s words, "It all begins with a song."
Many of Aspen's and South Florida’s community supporters attended the private concert and dinner party to show support for Oates’s vision. The Levinsons, owners of Levinson Jewelers in Fort Lauderdale, FL, have announced they will host a follow-up private dinner during the winter season in south Florida, with details to be announced in the near future.
