CIRCA Launches New Professional Services Division Under Edward Lewand
New York, NY—CIRCA announces the debut of its new Professional Services division, and has tapped Edward Lewand, GG, ASA, AAA (left) to head it.
A number of professionals such as appraisers, attorneys, executors of estates, accountants, insurance companies, government agencies, and more have expressed the need for this kind of service when they are retained to divest tangible assets. A transparent model is necessary to successfully execute their fiduciary responsibilities by providing their clients with the best value for their possessions.
"We are excited to launch this division as it not only removes the opaqueness in the process, but is also expeditious. Furthermore, we couldn't be happier to have the good fortune of retaining the services of Edward Lewand, one of the foremost and respected appraisers in the country," said Richard Tilles, CIRCA president.
Lewand is a Gemological Institute of America (GIA) Graduate Gemologist, a Certified Member of the Appraisers Association of America and a Senior Accredited Member in Gems and Jewelry from the American Society of Appraisers. He specializes in antique jewelry appraisals and has worked tirelessly with attorneys on estates, trusts, insurance matters, and copyright issues; as well as appraisal theories and concepts. He also was an outside expert for the Internal Revenue Service, and consults with numerous galleries and dealers in New York on antique jewelry.
Lewand also teaches The Art of Appraising Jewelry, a course at the NYU School of Continuing and Professional Studies. He has studied property and casualty Insurance and earned a New York brokerage license in it. He also has a certificate in paralegal studies from Adelphi University.

Baume & Mercier Introduces Limited Edition Watches Inspired By The Iconic Shelby Cobra Racecar
New York, NY—This June, Baume & Mercier will introduce two limited edition men’s watches to commemorate their new partnership with celebrated racecar manufacturer, Shelby Cobra. Baume & Mercier teamed up with the iconic brand to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of winning the FIA International Championship in 1965.
Fifty years ago, automotive legend Carroll Shelby achieved a victory that would change the course of international racing forever, and in doing so, Shelby would restore American racing prestige. To honor this unprecedented milestone, Baume & Mercier has created two limited edition timepieces for the new Capeland Shelby Cobra collection.
This collection is a chronograph powered by a Swiss-made self-winding movement. It features retro accents, classic lines, chronograph and tachymeter functions, and specially crafted hands featuring the Cobra logo. The blue-colored dials are the famous Shelby Cobra Guardsman Blue racing color and have double racing stripes as a subtle accent. Finally, the special hours and minutes hands are designed in the shape of the Cobra steering wheel, and as a finishing touch, the back of the watch is engraved with the collection title and Carroll Shelby’s own signature.
The steel Capeland Shelby Cobra 44mm chronograph is limited to a quantity of just 1,965 pieces in recognition of the year in which Carroll Shelby won the championship. The 18k red gold model is limited to just 98 pieces, in tribute to Carroll Shelby’s own Cobra racing number. Each timepiece in the Capeland Shelby Cobra collection is designed to capture the spirit and power of Cobra. Customers that purchase the red gold version will receive a complimentary driving experience at the Spring Mountain Race Track in Las Vegas.
The Capeland Shelby Cobra collection will launch in stores and online in June 2015. The steel chronograph will retail for $4,450 and the 18k red gold version for $19,950.
