Chimento Reorganizes To Adjust To New Market Dynamics

Vicenza, Italy—Italian jewelry brand Chimento, which has been working on a reorganization of its structure in Italy, recently addressed the trade regarding rumors sparked by its reorganization. The company is not in financial distress and is not closing, says Federica Chimento, who is president of the company’s USA operations. The reorganization is designed to achieve greater efficiency and profit and adapt to a changing market.

“Some industry sources have been using the reorganization to their benefit,” she said. “After 50 plus years of work we have become one of the leading ‘true’ Italian jewelry brands in the world. Yes, Chimento is reorganizing. No, Chimento has neither declared bankruptcy nor are we going out of business,” she emphasizes.

Since 1964 Chimento has worked to deliver timeless, refined and elegant jewelry to retail partners around the world, she said in a statement. Chimento remains family owned, and professional governance, management and operations are its hallmark, along with the continuing guiding principal of “made in Italy,” which covers both design and manufacturing.

All jewelry production remains in Vicenza, in Chimento’s headquarters. Retailers in the EU, Russia, Eastern Europe, Middle East, Asia, and in the Americas are served from there. But as many other Italian luxury brands have re-organized, Chimento is now doing the same so that it can compete more effectively in the global market and deliver a better product and service. The brand is present in the most important international jewelry exhibitions: Vicenza, Centurion, Baselworld, and the upcoming Couture Show in Las Vegas.
