Valenza, Italy--Bulgari, the Roman luxury jeweler owned by LVMH, has opened a new production site in northern Italy. According to Fashion Network, the facility is now the world’s largest monobrand jewelry manufacturing site and will support the brand’s expanding operations.

The facility, which spans 33,000 square meters, comprises three interconnected buildings powered entirely by renewable energy. In addition to the 400 jobs created since 2017, it is expected to generate 500 new jobs by 2029, and Bulgari’s production capacity at the site is set to double by that time.

Bulgari, acquired by LVMH in 2011 for €4.3 billion, reported estimated revenues of €3.6 billion in 2023. The company previously operated two smaller production sites in the region, which have now been consolidated.

The new site includes approximately 20 workshops producing tens of thousands of jewelry items monthly. Artisans work in “islands” of 20–25 people, each team handling the full manufacturing cycle for specific items. A centralized logistics system supports all units.

The complex also includes two training schools. The Bulgari Academy, established in 2017, trains new hires, while Scuola Bvlgari, opening in September, will train 80 students per year. Operated in partnership with the Tarì Design School, the latter is the first public training school housed within a jewelry factory, per the report.

Sustainability features include over 4,100 rooftop solar panels and 100 geothermal probes, which provide all the site’s energy needs—half generated on-site and half sourced from nearby solar-equipped farms. The site is LEED Gold certified.

The report added that Bulgari is also bringing in-house certain processes previously outsourced due to space constraints, including gem-setting. According to the report, the site combines traditional and industrial manufacturing, including CNC tools and 3D printers. The average employee is 39, and over half the staff are women.
