The incident took place on the night of July 18 at Rikko Zakka, a specialty store and warehouse on Jersey Boulevard that sells imported goods from Japan, including cosmetics, toys, and jewelry. Per the report, store owners said that the break-in occurred just before they were set to transport the jewelry to a store in Pasadena for an upcoming show.

The owner, who requested anonymity, said the timing of the burglary was unusual because the inventory is normally stored in separate locations. “Before, we do not show all the jewelry in one place, we always separate it. But July 18th, we have to prepare all the jewelry to go to the jewelry show, so we put all the jewelry together to ready for the show and they broke in that night,” the owner said.

Security footage shows the suspects using a white van to break through the gate, then rushing inside to grab items from the warehouse, including a safe, before fleeing. Per the report, the burglary lasted only four minutes. In addition to the jewelry, the thieves also took other merchandise and cell phones.

The store is now offering a $100,000 reward for information leading to the recovery of the stolen items. “Just wanna get all our jewelry back,” the owner said, adding that the loss has set the business back by five years.
