Wheaton, MD--A bus crashed into a jewelry store on March 2, injuring three people.

According to a news report, the accident took place at the Wheaton Jewelry Buyers store near Veirs Mill Road and Ennalls Avenue at approximately 9:30 a.m. Pictures reveal the bus lodged inside the establishment.

Per the report, officials say that the bus collided with another vehicle before it crashed into the store. The bus was taken away by noon.

The store was closed and unoccupied, and the bus only had the driver inside. The three injured individuals, including the driver, were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The report noted that police have not disclosed the exact cause of the crash but stated that a van caused it. The van driver was charged with four driving violations, including failure to wear corrective lenses, improper right turn, unsafe lane change, and failure to control speed to avoid an accident.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
