Alex Soldier Creates Princess Grace Trophy, Earrings For HSH Princess Charlene

New York, NY—The Princess Grace Foundation-USA celebrated its fifth consecutive collaboration with jewelry artist Alex Soldier, to create the 2013 Princess Grace award trophies. The designer also created a special pair of earrings worn by Her Serene Highness Princess Charlene of Monaco.

The awards were presented to 24 emerging artists in theater, dance and film at the 31st Anniversary Princess Grace Awards Gala on October 30. The ceremony also included the presentation of the Prince Rainier III Award to legendary screen and stage actress Cicely Tyson. The Prince Rainier III Award recognizes a celebrated artist whose own outstanding artistry is coupled with a desire to encourage and nurture the next generation of performing artists. Tyson was celebrated for her own body of work and her championship of both the arts and human rights. Soldier’s design incorporated symbols representing all three disciplines that were close to Princess Grace's heart and lauded by the Foundation: theater, dance, and film. 

Princess Charlene presided over the festivities, and the evening was chaired by William and Serena Lese and Sandra van Essche. Crown Sponsor was Lily Safra.
