Joshua Lishun Brewer, 29, reached a deal with federal prosecutors to plead guilty to obstructing, delaying, and affecting interstate commerce by committing a robbery, the report stated. Under the agreement, Brewer is expected to serve 57 months in federal prison followed by three years of supervised release. He had faced up to 20 years in prison.
On December 17, 2021, Brewer and two unidentified accomplices entered Markman's Diamonds and ordered employees and customers to the ground, per the report. One employee said she hid under a desk and saw colleagues zip-tied at gunpoint, while another said all three robbers appeared to be armed. The group took jewelry, along with the female employee's wallet and phone. Police tracked her phone to a nearby TJ Maxx, recovered it, and found Brewer's thumbprint on it, the report noted.
Brewer also faces more than a dozen state charges in Hamilton County Criminal Court, including aggravated kidnapping, aggravated assault, aggravated robbery, theft over $10,000, and false imprisonment. He is expected to appear before Judge Boyd Patterson on September 11.
