Greenwich, CT--A $12,000 necklace purchased from Manfredi Jewels, a luxury jewelry store in Greenwich, has become a key piece of evidence in sexual assault allegations made against Ali Al-Fayed, the brother of the late billionaire and former Harrods owner, Mohamed Al-Fayed.

According to a report in Daily Voice, 60 Minutes Australia aired an episode on Sunday, March 10, in which allegations suggested that the necklace was among the gifts allegedly given by Ali Al-Fayed to a woman known as Kim, a former assistant to Mohamed Al-Fayed. The report claims Mohamed Al-Fayed attempted to rape her before she was “passed” to his brother, who then allegedly assaulted her.

Per the report, Ali Al-Fayed purchased the beaded garnet and gold necklace, valued at over $12,000, along with a bottle of wine, on the same night as the alleged incident. Kim retained the necklace and presented it on camera during the investigation at the 41-minute mark of the segment.

The report also highlighted commentary from investigative biographer Tom Bower, who has written on the Al-Fayed family and alleged that expensive gifts were sometimes used to silence victims.

As per the report, Ali Al-Fayed has lived in the Greenwich area since 1990. In response to the allegations, representatives for Ali Al-Fayed told Daily Voice that he “unequivocally denies any and all allegations of wrongdoing.”
