Saks Global Keeps Neiman Marcus Flagship in Dallas Open Through 2025 Holiday Season April 01, 2025 (0 comments)

Dallas, TX--Just days before its planned closure, the flagship Neiman Marcus store in downtown Dallas will remain open through the end of the 2025 holiday season, according to a report by NBCDFW. Saks Global, which finalized its acquisition of Neiman Marcus in December 2024, reversed an earlier decision to shut down the more than 100-year-old location due to a lease dispute.

According to the report, Saks Global CEO Marc Metrick confirmed that the store would not close as originally announced in February. He cited ongoing discussions with Dallas City Manager Kim Tolbert and city leadership that led to the revised decision. “This is not something that can be messed with,” Metrick said, referring to the Neiman Marcus presence in Dallas.
According to the report, the company is now collaborating with the City of Dallas to reimagine the use of the downtown store following the 2025 holiday season. Specific plans have not yet been disclosed, though Metrick stated they are working quickly to finalize a direction. The Zodiak Room restaurant and the Bridal Salon will also continue operating through the end of the season.
The future of the Neiman Marcus flagship remains uncertain, but the city and Saks Global are now aligned to pursue a redevelopment strategy. “Really what I am excited about is to put our best foot forward as Saks Global in the Dallas market with Neiman Marcus,” Metrick said, per the report.
Meanwhile, the company’s planned $100 million investment into the Neiman Marcus location at NorthPark Center in Dallas is continuing as scheduled. The report noted that employees who had previously received severance offers amid the closure plans have been contacted about the opportunity to return to work.
