Los Angeles, CA—Contemporary bridal and fashion jewelry brand Uneek recently honored its longest-serving employee, Cristina Marquez.

Uneek president and CEO Benjamin Javaheri (left) presented Marquez (right) with the 20 Years of Excellence Award, celebrating her dedicated service and continued commitment to the company, its employees, and customers.

In 2000, Marquez was hired as the first employee of Uneek. Javaheri had worked solo for the first five years of the company until he was able to hire an assistant. Marquez was an administrative clerk when the Uneek office was a small room holding three to five people.

“Imagine a shy, 35-year-old trying to start a life and career in Los Angeles. My days used to begin with answering calls, organizing files, running errands, and talking to vendors in downtown,” Marquez recalls, “No task was too small for me. I learned how to break out of my shell while working withBenjamin. He has an unparalleled drive that inspired me to excel. He would come back from shows and appointments with more customers and impressive

sales. I see him both as a mentor and a son,” Marquez says.

With Uneek’s 25th anniversary set for 2021, Javaheri says he appreciates the hard work of the people who have been with him every step of the way, especially Marquez.

“Cristina is there from day one. She has a special place in my heart and the heart of Uneek. She has strived and changed with the times to be a great asset not only personally but also in the everyday expectations at work.
