Paris, France--In a daring midday heist, a dressed trio robbed between $11 million and $16.5 million from Piaget's prominent Paris store. The upscale Swiss watchmaker's boutique in the affluent Rue de la Pais in the city's second arrondissement near the Louvre was the latest target in a series of audacious thefts.

According to a report published in The Messenger, the two men, donned in gray suits and a woman in a green dress, entered the store armed with a silenced handgun. As per reports, they instructed store staff to lie down. A staffer was then directed to unlock the display units, which the thieves quickly cleared before escaping on foot.

The crime shocked the upscale neighborhood, although this wasn't the first instance of a robbery in the high-end shopping zone. "We understood what happened when two police cars arrived with sirens," a nearby luxury store employee told Le Parisien, per the report. "I first thought it was a film shoot."

The report noted that France's elite BRB police unit, known for its expertise in tackling organized gangs and hostage situations in Paris, is leading the ongoing investigation.

This district has fallen prey to similar criminal acts recently, with renowned stores such as Chanel, Bulgari, and Chaumet also victimized.
