Lahn-Schroeder said she believes the ring was lost near mile 10, in the area of Central Park South. ABC 7 reported that she and her partner searched for it but did not recover it.

During a Wednesday meeting, Big Apple Jewels owner Zak Nissanov said the store would create a replica at no cost. "What we'd like to do is make you a replica of the exact same ring that you lost without any pay," Nissanov said, as per the report.

The post added that the ring began as a tie clasp and was later turned into a ring by a female relative after the original owner died. The piece had since been passed down through multiple generations.

The jeweler said the replacement could help the family continue that tradition.

More details are available on ABC 7's website.
