New York, NY--Diamonds Do Good has announced its grant allocation for the upcoming year, totaling more than $250,000. These grants, made possible through funds raised at the DDG Awards and from ongoing fundraising outreach, underscore the organization’s championing of natural diamonds and their positive contributions to fostering sustainable development and community upliftment in diamond-producing and manufacturing countries.

This year’s grants from Diamonds Do Good (DDG) will support critical initiatives that empower youth, bolster education and stimulate economic growth, showcasing the positive global impact of the natural diamond industry.

Diamonds Do Good Urban Transition Centers in Partnership with the American India Foundation

In a new initiative for 2025, DDG is partnering with the American India Foundation (AIF) to launch the Diamonds Do Good Urban Transition Centers. This program will provide support for the children of migrant workers in India’s diamond-cutting sector. As these children transition between village and urban schools, the Urban Transition Centers (UTC) will offer educational, linguistic and cultural resources to help them succeed in both environments.

“The Transition Centers represent a commitment to holistic development for these children, ensuring they are not left behind due to migration challenges,” said Pritesh Patel, Diamonds Do Good Board and Beneficiary Committee Member and chief operating officer of the GIA.

Continued Support for Entrepreneurship and Economic Development

In its fourth year, the DDG Entrepreneurship Grants, in collaboration with United People Global, will continue to empower small business owners across diamond-producing countries in Africa and India. The program has successfully fostered entrepreneurship and job creation in these communities, creating a cycle of economic stability and opportunity.

Expanding Educational and Empowerment Opportunities

Flaviana Matata Foundation (Tanzania) — a longstanding partner, the Flaviana Matata Foundation (FMF) receives DDG’s support for its work in educating and empowering adolescent girls and young women in Tanzania.

Veerayatan (India) — DDG continues its partnership with Veerayatan’s colleges for pharmacy, business administration and engineering students. In May, students’ notes of thanks underscored the transformative impact of this support at the DDG Awards.

Sentebale (Botswana) — Through DDG’s “Let Youth Lead” program, this youth initiative led by Prince Harry and Prince Seeiso reaches over 80% of Botswana’s population, delivering essential support and resources to at-risk youth.

DDG says these grant commitments represents its “unwavering mission to support local communities in diamond-producing and manufacturing regions, fostering hope, growth, and sustainability through targeted outreach and impactful program.”

The next DDG Diamonds Do Good Awards will be held in Las Vegas on June 5, 2025.
