Entire Jewelry Store Inventory Stolen in Brazen Overnight Heist, Owner Heartbroken May 28, 2025 (0 comments)

Simi Valley, LA--The owner of a family-run jewelry store was in tears when he explained how burglars broke into his store’s safe overnight and took the business’s entire inventory in an elaborately planned heist, news station KTLA reports.
Jonathan Youssef, owner of the 5 Star Jewelry, said that just before on Sunday the thieves used a tool to cut through the roof of a coffee shop and then through a wall to access the jewelry store’s safe, KTLA reports.

A video submitted to KTLA shows one of the thieves belly-crawling through the coffee shop so he wouldn’t be detected by motion sensors. He then spray-painted the camera lens so it could no longer record the burglary. You can also hear one of the burglars speaking in the video.
Fighting back tears in a KTLA interview Youssef said that his family lost everything they had and now faces an uncertain future.
“It’s a hit – [my father’s] retirement, my future…I have a young family and three daughters,” he said in the video. “It’s a lot to have to rebuild from, especially because my dad is 71…he can’t work forever.”
