Los Angeles, CA--Feldmar Watch Company shared on Facebook its views on several overlooked aspects of watchmaking. The company highlighted the value of quartz movements, highlighting their accuracy, low maintenance, and affordability as practical alternatives to mechanical watches.

Mido, a lesser-known Swatch Group brand, was also recommended for its affordable luxury designs, offering significant value compared to familiar brands like Hamilton.

Feldmar stressed the importance of bracelet design, noting that it can greatly affect the wearability of a watch, while a poorly designed bracelet can make a good watch unwearable.

The post also drew attention to Chronoswiss, an independent brand often overshadowed by larger names like Audemars Piguet and Richard Mille, but recognized for its bold designs and craftsmanship.

Feldmar argued that readability is not always essential, particularly in watches where design and aesthetics are the priority.

Frederique Constant was praised for its innovation, with over 30 in-house movements developed since 2004, including the Caliber 810, which operates at a high frequency of 40Hz, requiring less maintenance.

The company also warned buyers about butterfly clasps, which, while visually appealing, can present fit issues due to limited adjustment options.
