First Lady Dr. Jill Biden Wears Ruchi New York Jewelry For Inaugural Celebration January 26, 2021 (0 comments)
Washington, DC—First Lady Dr. Jill Biden wore earrings from Ruchi New York’s Desert Blooms collection for the evening celebration following the inauguration of her husband, Joe Biden, as the 46th President of the United States. The 2021 inaugural celebration was a series of televised virtual celebrity performances and appearances by various ordinary Americans that played a role in helping through the pandemic. The event was created in lieu of the traditional inaugural balls to maintain social distancing.
The Biden family, in festive cocktail attire and masks, gathered in the White House for the evening. Dr. Biden (shown left in image) wore a knee-length white coat and dress ensemble by designer Gabriela Hearst.
She accessorized with Ruchi New York’s Mariposa earrings,a pair of blue sapphire slice floral earrings. According to Ruchi Kotahwala, founder and designer of Ruchi New York, the Desert Blooms collection symbolizes the fierce, enduring hope that triumphs adversity and emerges with beauty, and is inspired by the millions of wildflowers that bloom in the California desert. The earrings reflected the same unity theme expressed in Dr. Biden’s dress, a white silk sheath that was embroidered with the official flowers of every U.S. state and territory, she said.

Ruchi New York is creating a limited edition of the Desert Blooms Mariposa earrings that Dr. Biden wore to the inaugural celebration. In honor of Dr. Biden’s commitment to education, a portion of all proceeds from these limited-edition earrings will benefit a charity helping educate children.
