New York, NY—Forevermark is going virtual with the launch of My Forevermark Fitting, a computerized try-on experience (left) that brings Forevermark diamond jewelry to life on screen, moving with the “wearer” in real time.

Though virtual try-on programs for rings and watches already exist, the My Forevermark Fitting is the first 3D virtual try-on for pendants and earrings, allowing users to see how the jewelry will move as they ‘wear’ it.

Using a webcam and the special jewelry cut-outs, consumers download the application and then view themselves ‘wearing’ a selection of Forevermark diamond rings, pendants, and earrings in 3-D. Users can select from 12 pieces, including classic ear studs, a contemporary princess-cut solitaire ring, and a rare pear-cut diamond pendant. When the try-on experience is activated, the Forevermark diamond sparkles as the pieces move.

Forevermark developed the program in partnership with leading creative agency AKQA of San Francisco, and London, U.K.-based Holition, a global leader in augmented reality. Holition already has produced virtual try-on programs for other high-end jewelry and watch companies, including Tacori, Boucheron, Tissot, and Tag Heuer, and it produced a separate 3-D promotional movie for the De Beers retail chain, showing jewelry on a lenticular screen, which allows viewers a 3-D experience without wearing special glasses.

Holition CEO Jonathan Chippindale said the integration of real time physics in the application makes it a 'world first' digital achievement. Not only is the user able to see real time light move throughout the diamond, they are able to imagine how an articulated design will move when worn.

Forevermark CEO Stephen Lussier said, “Not only does the experience reflect all the beauty of a Forevermark diamond; it is also a remarkable digital achievement to have jewelry moving with the wearer in real time.”
