Revere built an award-winning collection of designer jewelry in the 1980s and 1990s. A past president of the American Jewelry Design Council, he directed and taught at his school in San Francisco for 40 years.
"The GIA team is delighted to welcome Mr. Revere's expertise and experience to collaborate on the Graduate Jeweler program," said Duncan Pay, GIA senior vice president of education and chief academic officer, as per the press release.
"I can't imagine a better alliance between the strongest players in contemporary American jewelry education," Pay added.
The revised GIA Graduate Jeweler program will integrate many aspects of Mr. Revere's well-known Revere Academy of Jewelry Arts, focusing on bench skills as the foundation for preparing graduates to enter the jewelry industry.
The release notes that the program will be based on projects designed to develop creativity and apply traditional jewelry-making skills.
GIA will announce program start dates for the revised Graduate Jeweler program in late 2023.
