The new Laboratory-Grown Diamond Quality Assessment will classify stones as either Premium or Standard, using descriptive terms rather than natural diamond grading.
- Premium: D color, Very Very Slightly Included or better clarity, Excellent cut (round brilliant), Excellent polish and symmetry.
- Standard: E–J color, Very Slightly Included clarity, Very Good cut (round brilliant), Very Good polish, Very Good symmetry (Good for fancy shapes).
Diamonds not meeting the minimum criteria will not receive an assessment.
The fee will be $15 per carat, with a $15 minimum. Stones not qualifying will be charged a $5 evaluation fee. Minimum size is 0.15 carats. Each diamond will be laser inscribed "Laboratory-Grown" with an assessment number, and a printed document will accompany the results.
