New York, NY--The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) has announced the launch of its revamped Jade Report, designed to provide more comprehensive gemological data in a modern, accessible format. This enhancement aims to serve professionals in the gem industry and everyday customers interested in jade.

Tom Moses, the executive vice president and chief laboratory and research officer at GIA, emphasized the significance of the update, as per a report in Solitaire International. "We made these improvements to our 'Jade Report' recognizing its history, symbolism and overall importance to consumers," he said, as per the report.

The revised report features a streamlined presentation of essential information. A key addition is a specialized section in the "Results" area, which specifically identifies the type of jade where relevant. The report also includes a new table that clearly defines these types, enhancing the understanding and clarity of the report.

Another significant update is including the term "Fei Cui" in the comments section when relevant. This term is an explanatory note clarifying that "Fei Cui" refers to a specific group of minerals, including jadeite, omphacite, and kosmochlor. This addition caters to the needs of those familiar with traditional trade terms, bridging the gap between colloquial and scientific gemological terminology.
