Merrick, NY--Crime continues to boomerang around jewlery stores in the U.S. Below are recaps of robberies in Evergreen, IL and Jacksonville, FL.

GRAB AND RUN SUSPECT FIRES SHOTS OUTSIDE STORE AFTER LEAVING
Evergreen, IL; September 18, 2021

The black male suspect (pictured left and below) browsed around a store for an hour not requesting assistance. He then asked to see two gold chains. When the sales associate presented the chains, the suspect grabbed the items and ran outside. While fleeing he took out a handgun and shot several rounds in the air.

The suspect is described as mid to late 30s, 5 feet 6 inches, 190 to 200 lbs.

Recommendation: Grab and run thieves, distraction thieves and other so called “non violent criminals” may actually be armed and/or their accomplices may be armed. It is very dangerous to chase criminals outside the store, and a confrontation can have tragic results.


 

SUSPECT PRODUCES HANDGUN AND DEMANDS JEWELRY
Jacksonville, FL; September 18, 2021

The suspect pictured above entered a pawnshop, produced a handgun and demanded jewelry. The employees complied with the demand and the suspect fled.
