Hannoush Jewelers Owner: Taylor Swift’s Ring Has a Vintage Cut With Rising Demand September 08, 2025 (0 comments)
West Springfield, MA--When Taylor Swift's engagement ring was revealed, Andrew Silva of Hannoush Jewelers quickly identified the center stone as an old mine-cut diamond, according to a report by WBSM.
"We literally made an old mine cut last week at Hannoush Jewelers," he said. "This one wasn't set in yellow gold – it was in white gold – but it was an elongated old mine cushion with some small stones on the side. It's been a bit of a look for a while, and I expect this style to get pretty popular over the next year or so."
Silva estimated the ring's value to be between $500,000 and $1.5 million, although People reported it could be worth as much as $5 million.
The WBSM report noted that Silva is familiar with the designer, describing them as "moderately popular, especially on Instagram and TikTok." He also explained that while the old mine cut gives the diamond a vintage character, it does not necessarily increase sparkle.
"It gives the diamond a unique vintage look. It doesn't actually give the ring more sparkle or shine. In fact, it actually gives less, to be honest with you," he said.
According to the report, Silva speculated that historical significance may be contributing to the ring's multi-million-dollar valuation.
