Homeless Man Nabbed Trying to Steal $183,500 in Jewels From a JCPenny Store August 12, 2024 (0 comments)

Greenville, N.C.--A homeless man from Beaufort County, N.C., is charged with stealing jewelry from a store Greenville Police reported, according to WITN news station.

Officers reportdly said that 55-year-old James Davis stole jewels valued at approximately $183,509.49 from JCPenney in the Greenville Mall on Sunday at 8:30 p.m. following an activation of the store’s alarm.

Initially, there was no indication of a break-in, but during a search of the business, officers say they located a damaged jewelry case and found Davis hiding in the store with the jewelry in hand, police reportedly said.

The value of the items stolen amounts to approximately $183,509.49, according to police.
