Merrick, NY—Clearly these are stressful times. For most of us, we’ve been told that stress is bad for our bodies and health. That knowledge isn’t helping anyone to feel better in these trying times. But what if that isn’t the whole story? (Image: TED)

What if how YOU feel about stress determines whether it’s good or bad for your health? Yes, that’s right, changing how you view stress can actually change how your body reacts to it!

Health psychologist Kelly McGonigal tackles this subject in this TED talk video. For years, she’s made stress the bad guy, an enemy. She’s changed her mind about this and wants to change yours, too. And in the balance, improve your health.

“When you choose to view your stress response as helpful, you create the biology of courage. When you choose to connect with others under stress, you can create resilience,” says McGonigal.

So, it’s time to change how you think about stress. Luckily you’ve got plenty of opportunitites to work on this right now. Click here to watch. And if you prefer words to video, here’s the transcript for this talk.
