AGS Brings Mini-Conclave to JCK

Las Vegas, NV—The American Gem Society is taking its renowned Conclave to JCK. On May 31, AGS will host Conclave X-Press, a one-day, all-inclusive mini-Conclave at JCK Las Vegas. The event is open to both members and non-members and gives anyone in the industry the benefit of experiencing Conclave at a fraction of what the regular event costs.

Conclave X-Press features five presentations, including nationally renowned sales guru, Dave Mitchell, who will present “The Power of Understanding People” from 10:00 am - 11:15 am.

The other four presentations are:

Hayley Henning of the Tanzanite Foundation will present “The Story Behind the Stone” from 8:30 am - 9:45 am. This interactive, pictorial presentation will offer a greater understanding of how this gem gets from mine to market.

Skydas International will present “Daily Operations and Trade Show Security” from 1:00 pm - 2:15 pm. Participants in this session will learn how to minimize exposure to criminal activity, lower their risk and spot unusual behavior that might lead to crime. The session will include security tips for store, home, and trade show travel.

From 2:30 to 3:45 p.m., Peter Yantzer of AGS Laboratories will present “Light Performance for Dummies,” a session where he breaks down the complex formula of cut grading and light performance into simple terms that everyone can understand. Participants will learn about the various factors that go into light performance and which are more critical than others.

Finally, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:15 p.m., Lisa Bridge of Ben Bridge Jeweler will discuss “Making Millennials Work for You.” The Millennial generation is predicted to outspend its Boomer parents as soon as 2017, and Bridge—a Millennial herself—will offer tips to market to Millennials and understand what drives their purchasing behavior.

The April Conclave in San Diego was one of AGS’s most successful events, said  Ruth Batson, CEO of the American Gem Society and AGS Laboratories. “Conclave X-Press gives AGS members a chance to get another taste of Conclave without having to wait till next year, and for non-members, it allows them to experience the high-level of talent we have at our annual educational conference.”
