New York, NY--Jewelers of America (JA) has opened applications for the Seymour & Evelyn Holtzman Bench Scholarship for the 2025 cycle. The scholarship supports students in accredited jewelry or metalsmithing programs in the United States, with a focus on low-income applicants.

According to an update on the Jewelers of America website, applicants must be U.S.-based, at least 18 years old, and enrolled or accepted into an eligible program running between January 1 and December 31, 2025. Applications require a program summary, statement of intent, and images of three original jewelry pieces.

The application window runs from May 1 to June 12, 2025. A review board consisting of three JA staff and two board members will assess submissions based on financial need, application content, and submitted work. Three finalists will be shortlisted, and the Holtzman Review Committee will select two recipients. Final decisions will be announced by July 31, 2025. Scholarship funds will be paid directly to the recipient's institution upon receipt of billing documentation.

JA also continues to offer its member-exclusive scholarship program for employees of JA member companies. As per the post, applicants must be at least 18, have at least one year of experience at a JA member business, and not be enrolled in any other home-study course. Eligible institutions include GIA, AGS, DCA, NAJA, and JA's own Bench Professional Certification.

Details and application links are available on the Jewelers of America website.
