New York, NY—Jewelry store robberies are increasingly becoming part of a pattern, as two different groups of robbers each hit multiple jewelry stores recently.

A recent bulletin from the Jewelers Security Alliance detailed two store robberies believed to be committed by the same group in Charlotte, NC, while another group hit three stores in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware.

In one of the two Charlotte, NC jewelry robbery cases believed to have been committed by the same group, the two suspects pictured above went into a jewelry and pawn store at 6:00 p.m. on January 21. One suspect was armed and waited at the door as a lookout, while the other went straight to the jewelry cases and started smashing showcases with a hammer. One suspect is described as 5 feet and 11 inches and thin (below), and the second suspect as 5 feet and 10 inches and heavyset (top).

In the second Charlotte incident, three suspects took control of a retail jewelry store at 5:00 p.m. on December 29. The robbers entered the store and went directly for the employees. One suspect held the employees down, and the other two started taking jewelry. The suspects were in and out of the business in two minutes.

In the second group of robberies believed to be related, grab-and-runs were committed at jewelry stores in Newark, DE; Downingtown, PA; and Hainesport, NJ. All three towns form a triangle of roughly 70 miles.

In Delaware, on January 14 two suspects grabbed two gold and diamond rings and ran. Four days later, on January 18, three suspects entered a retail jewelry store in Downingtown, PA, looking for engagement rings, diamond studs, and a gift for a grandmother. They left the store at 2:19, but returned at 5:19 and spent another 40 minutes in the store.

At 6:02 p.m. one suspect was holding a 2.57-carat round loose diamond, and the two other suspects were hanging around the front door. One suspect went outside and yelled, “Are you going to buy something or what?” At that point the suspect with the shoulder length dreadlocks holding the diamond ran out of the store.

Suspect #1 who ran with the diamond is described as 30 years old, with a Gucci mask, shoulder-length dreadlocks, and tattoos on both hands. Suspect #2 is described as 25 years old. Suspect #3 is described as 25 years old with a tattoo reading “Donna” on his forearm and upper wrist.

Finally, the same suspects are believed to have committed a grab-and-run in Hainesport, NJ on January 25, 2021.
