According to the Erie County District Attorney's Office and as highlighted in a WIVB report, Jason Badagliacca, an inventory manager at a local jewelry store, used his position to steal and resell precious stones and jewelry.

He also pocketed cash from financed purchases, covering up his actions by altering business records. The theft, which took place between September 2021 and August 2022, was uncovered in an audit.

Badagliacca, who pleaded guilty to second-degree grand larceny in May, has already repaid $7,000 and committed to paying $93,000 in restitution to his employer's insurance provider.
