GRAB AND RUN SUSPECT LEAVES FOR 10 MINUTES TO GET LICENSE
Yonkers, NY; July 22, 2021
The black male suspect pictured above requested to look at gold chains in a retail jewelry store at 11:15 a.m. When presented with two gold chains, the suspect said they were too expensive. Another chain was presented to the suspect who then said he was interested, and payment options were discussed.
At that point, the suspect stated he left his license in the car, left the store, and returned in 10 minutes. The suspect requested to try on the chain, and after he put it on, he ran from the store. The suspect is described as 25 to 30 years old, 6 feet 1 inch, with a thin build. If you have information, contact JSA at 212-687-0328 or jsa2@jewelerssecurity.org.
Recommendation:
Grab and runs suspects and other thieves wait for the best moment to make their move. In this case, the suspect left for 10 minutes probably because he didn't feel the time was right. Extra caution is necessary when a customer interrupts a sale to leave the store and returns shortly thereafter, perhaps leaving multiple times.
