Lancaster County, PA--The Koser Jewelers Tennis Challenge has completed its 18th year at the Hempfield recCenter in East Hempfield Township, Lancaster County, according to Fox 43. The tournament, which ran through August 10, offered $100,000 in prize money, up from $10,000 when it began as an International Tennis Federation (ITF) event in 2008.

Local wild card entrants included York's Elizabeth Ionescu, Lycoming County's Olivia Dorner, and Bucks County's Amelia Honer. “It makes me feel the support and makes me want to work even harder and win these matches," Honer told Fox 43.

More than 200 volunteers helped with operations, officiating, and ball retrieval. Tournament Director Wilson Pipkin said the event gives the community access to high-level tennis close to home.

The annual competition has become a fixture in the local tennis scene and continues to attract both elite players and local talent.
