Merrick, NY—It’s time to check out what your peers are doing on Instagram! It’s just past Thanksgiving and prestige retailers around the nation are ready for the Holiday season. We’ve got great images (of course!) and a lot of relevant messages from your fellow retailers. And one great humorous Instagram conversation exchange--be sure to check it out at the very end!

If you are new to Instagram, check out the various posts below and read this primer on getting started right.

Separately, an article on Luxurysociety.com offers seven tips for leveraging Instagram for luxury:

  1. Be colorful, consistent, and bold. Instagram is about the visual, not the verbal.
  2. Be influential. 33% of MIllennials rely on influencer blogs before purchasing, while another article in Luxury Daily says social media impacts a total of 78% of consumer purchases.
  3. Be open and invite customers into your world. Behind-the-scenes images are compelling.
  4. Be reactive and polite. Engage with your audience; quickly respond to questions, comments, and complaints; and credit and thank people.
  5. Be different. (Editor’s note: ideas you see repeatedly in the jewelry industry can be entirely new to your market and your followers.)
  6. Be moderate and don’t overdo. Limit the number of hashtags so as not to cheapen your image.
  7. Be organized. Put thought into what you post; i.e., quality of quantity.
