Le Vian Unveils Unique Watermelon Tourmaline High Jewelry Collection July 31, 2025 (0 comments)
NEW YORK, NY--Fine Jewelry brand, Le Vian, has introduced a Watermelon Tourmaline High Jewelry Collection, which the company describes as “a celebration of color, craftsmanship and couture.”
Most tourmalines appear in a single shade of green or pink. However, both hues also occur together in one crystal. When a gem cutter captures both colors in roughly equal proportions, gem connoisseurs call the result a watermelon tourmaline, because it resembles a slice of ripe summer fruit.

These gems are found primarily in remote mines of Brazil. To preserve the natural balance of both colors, each gem must be individually assessed and cut. The emerald cut is often chosen to highlight the pink‑to‑green transition with geometric elegance.
Le Vian elevates this rarity into wearable high art. Each watermelon tourmaline is hand‑selected and masterfully set into a one‑of‑a‑kind Le Vian Couture creation, crafted in 18k gold or platinum. The vivid colors are accented by Chocolate Diamonds, Vanilla Diamonds and Le Vian’s signature gold hues: Strawberry Gold, Honey Gold and Vanilla Gold, for a kaleidoscopic effect.

“Watermelon tourmaline is one of nature’s most joyful miracles,” said Eddie Le Vian, CEO of Le Vian. “To find it, cut it perfectly and create a masterpiece around it. That is the magic of Le Vian Couture.”
Highlights of the collection include:
- The Leni: A 26.46‑carat watermelon tourmaline framed by Vanilla Diamonds in 18K Honey Gold
- Couture statement rings: Center stones of more than 10 carats showcase the gem’s duality of color
- Limited‑edition collector creations: Available exclusively at Le Vian trunk shows nationwide and the annual VVVIP Red Carpet Revue in Las Vegas
“Watermelon tourmaline is also revered for its spiritual resonance, believed to promote emotional balance and heart‑centered energy, which adds personal meaning to each work of wearable art.,” the company said.
