New York, NY--Family-run jewelers bring more than just sparkling gems to the table; they also bring decades, if not centuries, of tradition. This established presence signifies trustworthiness and attracts clients across generations.

Mark Schaffer, director of the antique and jewelry firm A La Vieille Russie in New York, which has roots dating back to 1851, comments in a Rappaort report, “The fact that we have been around for as long as we have demonstrates to people that we are a business they can rely on and trust."

Lee Krombholz, a third-generation owner of Krombholz Jewelers in Cincinnati, Ohio, stresses authenticity and maintaining the trust clients have placed in the company since its inception in 1940. “Always be fair. Make sure what you are selling will have lasting quality,” he advises, as per the report.

In Franklin, Tennessee, Walton’s Antique and Estate Jewelry also thrives on its heritage. Julie Walton Garland, the third-generation owner, recalls the legacy of her grandmother, founder Melba Walton. "She cared for her clients as people, not just another sale," Garland says in the report. The store provides comprehensive post-purchase support, ensuring clients' treasured pieces remain pristine.

Progressing with time, Schaffer has seen a surge in demand for 20th-century jewelry. His company delves into more sources for high-quality mid-to-late 20th-century designs to cater to evolving tastes. Similarly, Krombholz repurposes antique jewelry to resonate with modern aesthetics.

Garland leans into the power of recommendations. Her way of showing gratitude for client referrals is unique. "We send handwritten, personalized thank you notes with coffee gift cards to clients who make referrals," she shares in the report. This gesture and building trustworthy relationships with global dealers position Walton’s as a sought-after partner in the industry.
