Let’s Talk Jewelry Store Design: How Exterior Doors Impact Your BusinessJuly 15, 2021 (1 comment)
|West Bloomfield, MI--The exterior doors of your jewelry store can impact your revenue. If you want to make a great first impression, you need to have a great front door. Here are a few reasons why you will not want to ignore this essential design feature:
Display Your Business Style
It’s a misconception that only one or two styles of doors will work with a business design scheme. The truth is that you can mix and match styles, colors, shapes and sizes to give your business some real design personality.
The front door can complement the look of the rest of your building or serve as a bold point of contrast. You can also use your selection of the front door to fit in with the look of the rest of the businesses in your area or to stand out from the pack.
If you want to stand out of the pack, enhancing the landscaping can add a nice exterior design accent to you business’ front door and overall entryway. See picture below of Crocker’s Jewelers in Texarkana Texas, where I designed the exterior and interior to flow with consistent design elements. The front doors that I designed have glass and iron elements with large a “CJ” on both entry doors that represent Crocker’s Jewelers. Also, I incorporated light sconces on either side of the beautiful planters.
Add Curb Appeal and Value
Examine the colors of your building and brand. Take pictures of other buildings near your store. Look at the pictures to determine whether you want your business to complement nearby buildings or draw attention by standing out. Since the front door is such a focal point, it will be one of the first things that customers see when they enter your business. A great looking door gives your business instant curb appeal.
Project a Sense of Security and Solidity
Front doors have twin purposes of inviting customers in and keeping people out. Simple design upgrades such as new hardware can make a huge difference in the image of the front door. Two great companies for hardware are Hafele American Company and Douglas Mockett & Company. See picture below of the large hardware of the “B” which is the symbol for name of the business.
The front door remains a common point of entry for intruders/burglars. A strong solid door is a powerful deterrent and presents your business as being carefully protected. Lighting is easy to install around and above your entryway that offers great design accents and security to your business.
