New York, NY—Many of us have now been sheltering at home for over a month. It is very interesting how quickly we can adapt and have created daily routines in this strange new reality.

Most days, weather permitting, my wife Marjorie and I will take a walk. Since I have been working from home, our strolls are welcome breaks and a great way to get in our “steps” for the day. We have also discovered how much more we have gotten to know our own neighborhood. Our pre-pandemic pace of life was much more hectic and quite a bit busier between work and all our commitments. If one good thing has come out of this time, it has been to really appreciate the simple things in life. And we are appreciating the rare opportunity to slow down and relax.

Many of our treks have taken us along the Central Park reservoir. The park is remarkable in all seasons, but spring is especially pretty. Some of our walks have been more notable. A few weeks ago, we had the honor of witnessing a wedding (left). We watched as the couple exchanged vows beneath pink foliage with a socially distanced officiant, photographer, and a handful of guests. At first, I wasn’t sure if I would have selected a time like this to get married. But then I looked around and saw the magnificent colors of spring and changed my mind. A wedding is a new start. It is a beginning. It is hope. And that is exactly what we all need now.

Love and life prevail.
