Las Vegas, NV--Hearts On Fire University (HOFU) draws some 1,000 retailer owners and their team members to Las Vegas each year, where they enjoy an impressive array of educational sessions, networking with peers, great food and entertainment and also get to find out who won Hearts On Fire's annual Retailer of The Year competition.
This year, HOFU 2011 was also the place where the company celebrated its 15th anniversary, and where founders Glenn and Susan Rothman celebrated their wedding anniversary and "important" birthdays.
The festivities took place at the recently completed Aria hotel at City Center in Las Vegas, where celebrity, entrepreneur and former Los Angeles Lakers basketball great Magic Johnson headlined the educational program.
Very important in the HOFU mix is recognition of the company's retail partners and their accomplishments. The audience gave a standing ovation for the winner of the Retailer of The Year award, Lucido Jewelers of Sterling Heights and Rochester, MI. Their win was especially impressive to other retailers in attendance because Lucido accomplished what is essentially a major diamond and diamond jewelry sales feat in a depressed market, the metropolitan Detroit area. The owners of the stiore are brothers Joseph Lucido, Jr. and Vince Lucido. The Centurion caught up with Vince in a quiet moment and he shared his thoughts about winning this top honor from Hearts On Fire. Next, Hearts On Fire retailer Majesty Jewelers of St. Maarten ascended from winning Rookie of the Year in 2010 to win Retailer of The Year/International for 2011. Owner Ash Aswani explained what it took to get there and how a jeweler in the Caribbean is selling so many diamonds. And after having gotten up on stage the night before with his team to belt out rock tunes to great applause from their retailer customers, Hearts On Fire executive vice president Peter Smith sat down with The Centurion to speak about the company's "Complete" collection, which he was extremely excited about.
