Fletcher, NC--Marthaler Jewelers has introduced a handcrafted engagement ring featuring a 4.17-carat sapphire set in 18K yellow gold with Cadillac-cut diamonds. According to the jeweler's post on Facebook, the piece was designed and produced entirely in-house, from concept to casting, stone setting, and final polish.

The jeweler noted that sapphires were historically chosen as engagement stones before diamonds became standard. The post highlighted that sapphires were worn by royalty and symbolize truth, loyalty, and devotion. Princess Diana's choice of a sapphire engagement ring was cited as an example of the stone's lasting appeal.

On the Mohs scale of mineral hardness, sapphires rate a 9, making them second only to diamonds in durability. The jeweler noted that the ring was crafted to balance both elegance and resilience.

The ring is available for viewing at Marthaler Jewelers, where customers can also learn about the in-house design and production process.
